A friend indeed!

Along the path of life,
Of the many friends you make,
Some disappear on a strife,
And some, you forsake.

Very few stay,
Joyous at your victory,
Hopeful at your dismay,
and guide you to be earthy
.
If you have already found one,
Hold them over for dear life.
Money wont buy you a better bargain,
Nor will it ease the grief.

They may be away by a mile,
But memories will bring back the smile.

---- Jesma Mohan
P.s. The rhyme scheme which i chose for this poem was that of an English sonnet. ie,
(/ represents a new stanza): a-b-a-b / c-d-c-d / e-f-e-f / g-g
The form is often named after Shakespeare, not because he was the first to write in this form but because he became its most famous practitioner. The form consists of three quatrains and a couplet. The third quatrain generally introduces an unexpected sharp thematic or imagistic "turn" called a volta.
